ABOUT HOLOGRAM

Hologram Electronics is a small team in Knoxville, Tennessee designing and building effects pedals for guitarists, synth players, producers, and anyone interested in exciting sound design. We sell direct to the people who use our pedals, shipping worldwide from our shop. We care a lot about how things look and sound, and put a lot of effort into reliable customer support.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We design and make effects pedals in Knoxville for a worldwide audience. We’re hiring a social coordinator: someone who posts our work, uploads ads, and keeps up with the conversation around our products and industry.

We’re looking for someone to keep our feeds looking on brand and to show up in the comments and DMs for customer support and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop audio DSP algorithms for embedded platforms (effects, synthesis, audio processing)

  • Contribute to platform architecture and toolchain development for DSP hardware

  • Write production-quality embedded C/C++ code

  • Collaborate on product design decisions, balancing technical constraints with creative goals

  • Test, debug, and optimize code for real-time performance on resource-constrained hardware

Role Responsibilities

  • Publishing. When a video or post is approved, you get it out the door: uploading to Instagram and YouTube (and wherever else we decide to be), writing captions in our voice, tagging the right people, and making sure the grid and the channel look considered. You will run the approval loop with our designer and our editor so nothing goes up that isn’t ready.

  • Ads. You will configure ad campaigns using material from our creative team, keep an eye on performance, and report what is working and what isn’t. You don’t need to be an advertising expert, the goal is to be careful, curious, and good at reading a dashboard.

  • Being the voice. You will monitor comments, DMs, mentions, and tags across our channels every day. Reply where a reply helps, engage with our audience, answer the easy questions, route the hard ones, and thank people who make things with our pedals. When someone posts something cool with a Hologram pedal in it, you are the one who notices and shares it.

  • Moderation and judgment. Keep our spaces kind and helpful while looking for any customer support opportunities. Remove spam and trolling and escalate issues.

  • Feedback loop. Bring back the recurring questions and the requests, and help us keep a shared bank of accurate answers.

  • Occasional creative support. From time to time a director or musician will be in the shop filming. You might help on set, wrangle gear, or take a first pass at a short edit. This is a small slice of the job and not the focus, but it is a nice way to stay close to the work, and one of the places the role can grow as full-time opportunities arrive.

Role Requirements

  • You make music with effects, and you play guitar. You’re excited to talk about pedals and how you use them, and have an awareness of the gear out there. Bonus if you are also familiar with synthesizers, modular gear, music production and/or studio gear.

  • You have run social or community for a brand, a band, a venue, a label, or something you built yourself, and you have examples to show.

  • You are comfortable writing clearly and warmly, and you can bounce between platforms, from a YouTube comment to a DM with a touring musician to a note to a customer, without losing the thread.

  • You are organized and steady across several conversations and platforms at once.

  • You are comfortable with technology. Meta Business Suite, YouTube Studio, a scheduling tool, an ads dashboard: you’re comfortable digging in and figuring it out.

  • You work well with remote collaborators. Editors, design, and talent are often remote, and you can be the hands and eyes in the building.

Nice to have, not required: video editing (Premiere, Resolve, or similar), photography or video, audio production, or time spent in the pedal or music gear industry.
